Celebrating two birthdays

Waking up on my birthday, March 21, 1998, the first thing I saw was my newborn baby sleeping next to me. Born the day before, on March 20, she was the most beautiful present one could ever receive. And since then, she has continued to be my birthday gift every year.

However, for the past ten years, living on opposite sides of the world, we have celebrated our birthdays apart—me in Sweden and Mikey in New Zealand. That’s why this year was so special: we finally got to be together, celebrating for two days!

For me, having always associated March 21 with snow and skiing, it felt almost exotic to wear a summer dress and enjoy a drink in the sun by the harbor in Wellington.

We also paid a visit to the lavish exhibition showcasing Vivienne Westwood’s fashion and jewelry at Te Papa, New Zealand’s national

museum. Punk meets Renaissance in the best possible way. So this year, waking up March 21 was very special!
